CORVALLIS -- A coach stood in front of the Oregon State football team prior last Saturday's scrimmage, highlighting the Beavers' improvements from spring practice to fall camp and their potential to flash physicality on offense and speed on defense this season.
Ron McBride is technically not part of the Beavers staff, though he's become an honorary member of sorts. Saturday's scrimmage wrapped his latest two-week visit to Corvallis. Those trips connect McBride, Gary Andersen's college position coach and former boss at Utah, to Andersen's current program.
"It's like my vacation," McBride said. "I come up here, they treat me so well and I'm involved in what they're doing.
