The road has been especially cruel to the Oregon State Beavers football team, which dropped its 17th game in a row away from Reser Stadium on Saturday in a 37-23 loss to Cal.
After holding Stanford to 81 yards rushing nine days ago, the Beavers allowed Cal's Patrick Laird to run wild in Berkeley. Laird finished with 214 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries.
Those were the kinds of numbers OSU's Ryan Nall had put up in last season's Beavers victory over Cal. But this time, Nall managed just 35 yards on 12 carries.
