In a move that should surprise absolutely no one at this point it appears that the Power 5 conferences are increasingly likely to postpone fall sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic according to reports from ESPN, Sports Illustrated and several others.
The first domino fell Saturday when we learned that there would be no Mac-tion this fall as the Mid-American conference became the first FBS conference to punt on the 2020 season occurring this fall. Several FCS conferences, including the Big Sky, made a similar decision earlier this week.
The Big 10 appears to be the driving force behind the power 5’s potential decision as conference presidents met recently and pushed back full contact practices while reportedly considering postponement.
