Report: Oregon State to name Cal offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin head coach after season

On the eve of the 121st Civil War, a reported surfaced stating Oregon State has already found its next head football coach.

The site FootballScoop on Friday night reported Oregon State intends to give the job to California offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin but would not officially introduce him until after the season. The Beavers play their season finale at 4 p.m. Saturday at Oregon.

The report published online as Cal played its own season finale at UCLA. The Golden Bears are 5-6 and could become bowl eligible with a victory.

Baldwin arrived at California before the 2017 season after nine seasons as head coach at Eastern Washington, where he went 85-32 and won an FCS national championship.
