Quick-fix college football coaching changes often prove not to be a fix at all: Issues & Answers

Seattle Times columnist Larry Stone has a good piece today about Washington offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith.

Smith is getting what appears to be well-deserved credit for the performance of the fifth-ranked Huskies' offense and, in particular, the development of quarterback Jake Browning.

UW sophomore quarterback is mentioned prominently on the Heisman lists.

Here is Stone's piece. It should be must-reading for the fire-breathers in the Oregon base calling for UO coach Mark Helfrich to be removed, sooner rather than later.

I drove up to Seattle a year ago to do a story about Smith, then under as much or fire than Helfrich is now.
