BEND — On an Oregon State defense with several newcomers, Devin Chappell is technically a veteran.
And yet, the senior safety is still fairly new to this level of college football. His journey from walk-on to starter has been well-documented, and this spring he was voted a captain by teammates for a defense striving for immense improvement after allowing 37 points per game in 2015.
Chappell talked with The Oregonian/OregonLive Sunday about his role and expectations for the defense this season.
With three practices down, how do you feel about the early progress of the defense?
