CORVALLIS – Oregon State freshman to-be Mikayla Pivec added some hardware to her already extensive collection this week, when she was named the Max Preps Female Athlete of the Year.
The national award presented to the Lynnwood High School graduate (Lynnwood, Wash.), has previously been won by Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin, and basketball standouts Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike.
"Looking back on my four-year high school journey, I can wholeheartedly state that I am very proud of what I was able to accomplish individually and what I was able to contribute toward my teams' successes while participating in team sports," Pivec told MaxPreps.
