CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State senior Rachel Picknell broke the school record in the hammer for the second time this season to lead the Beavers on Friday at the Sun Angel Classic meet at Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
Picknell’s throw of 169 feet, four inches broke her former school mark of 165-7.25 by just under two feet. She set the old record on March 18 at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break meet.
Picknell took 14th place in her 24-woman flight and was third among Pacific-12 Conference entrants. Teammate Melissa Ausman was 20th at 154-6.
