Several Pac-12 football players from across the conference have threatened to sit out the upcoming season unless the conference meets their demands. The players released an article on the Player’s Tribune this morning detailing their requests. The demands focus on racial injustice, player safety during the coronavirus pandemic, protecting all sports and athlete compensation.

Some of the more notable demands include:

  • Preserve all sports by reducing lavish expenditures and administrative compensation
  • Form a task force regarding racial injustice as well as initiatives geared toward low-income Black students
  • Medical coverage for 6 years after their playing career
  • Name, image and likeness compensation
  • Fair market pay, rights and freedoms
