Pac-12 men's basketball: Arizona NCAA Tournament 1st round exit tops league's embarrassing year

Speaking Thursday night during halftime of a national CBS broadcast, Buffalo coach Nate Oats did not mince words when asked what it would take to upset Arizona.

"I think we're better," he said, his No. 13 seed holding a two-point lead in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Boise.

Oats' words were prophetic, as Buffalo went on to decimate Arizona 89-68. It was the Bulls' first NCAA Tournament win in program history, and it also sealed an ugly bit of history for Pac-12 men's basketball.

Arizona's blowout loss made it the first time since 1986 that no teams from the Pac-10 or Pac-12 made it out of the Round of 64.
