OSU Recruit Suffers Season Ending ACL Injury

Oregon State frontcourt recruit Ben Kone has suffered a season ending ACL tear. Fortunately, the prognosis is it won't carry over to his arrival on campus next fall.

The 6'8" 3-star power forward from San Jose, CA, and Arch Bishop Mitty High School, injured his knee last week, and didn't initially think it was too serious.

"I thought it wasn't that bad when it happened because I got up and walked around right after it happened," Kone said.

But examination subsequently determined surgery to repair a tear was needed.

"I tore my ACL, but I'll be fine," Kone added.
