OSU Holds On To Defeat Gonzaga

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Trevor Larnach hit his second home run of the season and Christian Chamberlain tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief as the second-ranked Oregon State baseball team held on for a 4-3 win over Gonzaga Saturday at Surprise Stadium.

Gonzaga's Jake Vieth opened the ninth inning with a single off the right field wall, later scoring on a wild pitch by Oregon State sophomore reliever Jake Mulholland to pull to within one. But Mulholland, with a runner at third and one down, recovered with a shallow flyout to center and a strikeout to close out the win, picking up his first save of 2018.
