Corvallis, Ore. – Oregon State’s four-game winning streak came to an end on Wednesday night when the Beavers dropped a 78-72 decision to Stanford before a Gill Coliseum crowd of 5,563.
Senior guard Gary Payton II had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists and freshman Drew Eubanks and Stephen Thompson Jr. had 13 points apiece for the Beavers (10-3, 1-1 Pac-12), who suffered their first setback since a Dec. 12 decision against No. 2 Kansas at Kansas City.
Senior Olaf Schaftenaar added nine points and hit a 3-pointer and now has at least one trifecta in in 12 consecutive games, matching his career-high.
