The first order of business for Oregon State University president Ed Ray and incoming vice president and director of athletics Todd Stansbury was to sign the contract.
Ray and Stansbury made the hiring official on Tuesday morning at a press conference in the Gill Coliseum media room.
"I take longer because I'm left-handed and it's important for other people to be able to actually read my signature," Ray said.
A moment later and the paperwork was completed. Ray turned to Stansbury.
"Welcome aboard, friend," Ray said.
Stansbury was the choice to replace Bob De Carolis, who announced he was stepping down on June 30.
