Early entry into the NBA draft is not what it used to be.
After a 2016 NCAA rule change allowed college players to go through the draft evaluation process and withdraw their names after the NBA combine in early May, 117 underclassmen declared for a draft last year in which 60 players are selected.
Notably, Oregon stars Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey tested the draft waters last spring. Both withdrew their names before the final deadline 10 days after the combine and returned to help lead the Ducks to their first Final Four appearance since 1939.
