Well this one was over quick. Destiny Slocum hit a layup 13 seconds into the game, and the Beavers never gave that lead up. Mikayla Pivec scored with 5 minutes left in the first quarter to give the Beavers a 16-6 lead, and that lead would never drop below double digits. At the half St. Mary’s trailed by 22 points, and it would only get worse from the Gaels from there.
Ultimately, the Beavers won by 33 points, 86-56. It’s not quite the pasting they gave Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but it’s dominant none the less. It was a perfect demonstration of what this team looks like when firing on all cylinders.
