Oregon State wants to increase tempo; Conor Blount gets first team quarterback reps: Beavers spring football practice notes

CORVALLIS - Oregon State football coach Jonathan Smith and offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren have pledged to bring a "pro-style offense that plays fast" to Corvallis.

The process is in its embryonic stages and, in the early going, Lindgren said Monday there were some growing pains as the offense pushes to its new tempo.

"I don't think we're playing fast enough right now," the former Colorado play-caller said. "... The quarterbacks are getting a feel for pushing it. The offensive line, they're getting a feel for getting back up on the ball and getting the next snap going.
