CORVALLIS — Wayne Tinkle opted not to go into detail about his latest halftime locker-room speech.
The Oregon State coach was animated. Everybody was animated. He'll leave it at that.
The good news is the stern talking-to worked, as the Beavers rode a strong second half to an 82-61 victory over Quinnipiac Monday night at Gill Coliseum. More good news, OSU is 9-2 through a nonconference slate that was far more difficult than the one the Beavers played in Tinkle's debut season.
But Tinkle also knows the Beavers' first-half effort and execution level won't cut it once Pac-12 play begins next weekend.
