Oregon State puts on pads for first time: Spring practice report

On a day that included a couple drops — Hunter Jarmon could not hold onto a diving catch and Ryan Nall let a pass on a wheel route bounce off his hands — Artavis Pierce held onto a nice fingertip grab on a swing pass from Jake Luton off the right side.

This was the Beavers’ first day in shoulder pads, where Andersen said “it becomes real football, instead of pretend football.” Players did not tackle, but the ability to become more physical is crucial for the offensive and defensive linemen and for the running backs when executing pass protections.
