Oregon State’s pitching unit will lose some depth next year as pitcher Jack Washburn announced his decision to enter the transfer portal yesterday, according to a report from The Oregonian. Washburn was a key part of the Beaver rotation this past season both as a reliever and as a starter for midweek games.
Washburn appeared in 21 games and had 5 starts for the Beavers this season. He picked up a 4-2 record with a 3.12 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. With Kevin Abel and Jake Pfennigs both potentially leaving in the MLB Draft next month, it looked like Washburn was on track to compete for a full time starting job next season.
