The Oregon State men's basketball team and staff are safe and accounted for Thursday in the wake of the fatal crash in Barcelona, according to coach Wayne Tinkle.
The Beavers were scheduled to play the first game of their summer Spain trip Thursday and Tinkle said the team was at its pre-game meal when the incident occurred.
The game has since been cancelled, Tinkle said.
Multiple reports Thursday said a white van mounted a sidewalk in Barcelona's Las Ramblas district and struck several people. Spanish police have since confirmed fatalities to multiple news outlets.
Tinkle wrote on Twitter that the crash happened in front of the team hotel, which assistant coach Gregg Gottlieb confirmed on Facebook.
