Oregon State men's basketball gamely fights back but doesn't close in 79-77 loss at Washington

SEATTLE - Alfred Hollins' ice bag dropped to the concrete floor as he reached for his post-game dinner, which sat inside a white Styrofoam box wrapped in a pile of green plastic bags in the back hallway of Hec Edmundson Pavilion.

Back on the court late Thursday night, Drew Eubanks spoke with acquaintances with an ice bag of his own wrapped around his left leg. The Oregon State junior had tallied 15 points and seven rebounds while playing with a taped-up shooting wrist.

The nicks and bruises that come with a full college basketball season were on display during a 79-77 loss at Washington, one in which the Beavers gamely battled back from an 11-point deficit and went toe-to-toe with their Pacific Northwest rivals in a hostile environment amid a game that featured nine ties and six lead changes.
