Oregon State forward Tres Tinkle to have surgery on right foot

Despite initial hope that it would not be necessary, Tres Tinkle will have surgery to repair the foot injury that ended his freshman season at Oregon State.

OSU head coach Wayne Tinkle, who is also Tres Tinkle's father, confirmed the injury is a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

"It's not healing the way we want," Wayne Tinkle said. "We just want to get it healed so that next year there's not an issue."

The surgery date has not been scheduled but is expected to take place within the next two weeks.
