CORVALLIS - Oregon State head football strength and conditioning coach Evan Simon has left for a job at Davidson College in North Carolina.
Simon's last day was Friday, according to an OSU athletic department spokesman, confirming multiple reports of his departure.
Simon, who arrived at Oregon State in January 2015, and Davidson did not respond to request for comment. Micah Cloward, the assistant sports performance coordinator, is serving as interim football strength and conditioning coach.
Simon had been connected with former OSU football coach Gary Andersen since 2006, although multiple sources said Simon's departure was planned before Andersen and Oregon State mutually agreed to part ways on Oct.
