CORVALLIS - In theory, the Saturday start time of Oregon State's football scrimmage would have been convenient for fans.
The Beavers' first scrimmage of an early spring football season starts four hours before tipoff of the 348th Civil War basketball game between Oregon State and No. 6 Oregon at Gill Coliseum (3 p.m., ESPN2).
But that convenience is now immaterial due to weather.
With forecasts predicting an 80 percent chance of rain, OSU will hold its scrimmage at the Merritt Truax Indoor Center. Given the limited space in the facility, the scrimmage will not be open to the public.
