It would be naive to think that the absence of the head coach, and all the surrounding off-field distractions related to that situation, might not have some effect on the Ohio State football team. But while I think Meyer's presence on the sideline will be missed on Saturday, I also think his suspension and the negative national spotlight on the program has had a unifying effect on the team, in that it has created an "us against the world" mentality.
