Oregon State football, in search of offensive identity, has gone away from run game

CORVALLIS - While defensive struggles have been the most consistent theme of an Oregon State football season that has fallen well below expectations, coach Gary Andersen acknowledged Monday that has team lacked an offensive identity.

"Those offensive coaches have good minds," Andersen said. "The ball's in their court. It's a big-time challenge for them to step up and put the kids in the position to be able to make plays."

The passing game has been a question mark for the three years since Sean Mannion departed for the NFL, Andersen transitioned the Beavers from a pro style to a spread offense and the Beavers struggled to find a starting quarterback.
