Oregon State football coach Gary Andersen weighs in on graduate transfer rule: Rundown

CORVALLIS – The NCAA graduate transfer rule will be in full display at Reser Stadium on Saturday in the form of California quarterback Davis Webb.

The former Texas Tech quarterback, who has the second-most passing yards per game in the nation, came to the Golden Bears for the 2016 season and replaced former starter and NFL No. 1 draft pick Jared Goff.

The rule, which the NCAA instituted in 2006, allows athletes immediate eligibility after receiving an undergraduate degree if the athlete transfers to a school in search of a graduate degree not available at the previous school.
