CORVALLIS - Standing on the Terrace at Reser Stadium, Oregon State football coach Gary Andersen fielded questions in a Tuesday media scrum earlier in the calendar year than is expected for a typical season.
The Beavers start fall camp Tuesday, July 25, roughly a month before their season-opener at Colorado State on August 26.
The early start is the result of the game in Fort Collins that was originally scheduled for September 23 but moved up a month to become the season opener. Also a factor in the early start was an April ruling from the NCAA that eliminated two-a-days in preseason practice.
