CORVALLIS - A midweek practice wound down and Gary Andersen kept his eyes laser-focused on only one of the Oregon State practice fields.
The Beavers kept the first team offense and defense on separate gridirons deep into their Wednesday workout. Andersen, wearing sunglasses, a long-sleeve black shirt and an orange visor, stood still with hands locked on his hips and a whistle in his mouth behind the safeties and defensive coordinator Kevin Clune.
A long-time defensive assistant and coordinator before his head coaching days, Andersen similarly observes the offense this way at varying points in the day.
