In their first road game of the season, the Beavers six game win streak has ended. Stephen Thompson Jr. hit 4 threes in the final 30 seconds of the night, attempting to erase a Kent State lead that at first seem insurmountable. Thompson came up just short, as the Beavers lost by one point, 79-78. Had they won, the Beavers would have stretched the streak to seven, a feat which they have not accomplished since the 1989-90 season. That streak ended after 10 wins. The Beavers are now 8-4 on the season.
Prior to Thompson’s late effort, the Beavers had struggled heavily from behind the arc, with just two three-pointers in the first 39 minutes of the game.
