BERKELEY, California — When Oregon State's defense took the field at Memorial Stadium Saturday night, starting cornerback Larry Scott stood in sweats on the sideline. Also not in uniform? Starting safety Justin Strong and part-time starting cornerback Dwayne Williams.
Not exactly ideal when matching up against a sure-fire NFL prospect in California quarterback Jared Goff. And for the second consecutive week, the Beavers' defense was torched by one of the Pac-12's best signal-callers, as Goff threw for 453 yards and a season-high six touchdowns as part of a school-record offensive performance for the Golden Bears in Saturday night's 54-24 rout.
