BERKELEY, California — Oregon State's banged-up secondary drew the Pac-12's best pure-armed quarterbacks in consecutive November weeks.
And for the second consecutive week, that group got torched. California's Jared Goff threw for 453 yards and a season-high six touchdowns, as the Golden Bears blew by the Beavers 54-24 Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
Goff, who is widely regarded as the top quarterback prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft, racked up 285 of those yards in the first half, including a 4-yard touchdown strike to Kenny Lawler late in the first quarter to give Cal a 7-0 lead and a nifty 45-yard catch and run by Tre Watson late in the second quarter to push the Golden Bears' advantage to 24-3.
