CORVALLIS — Oregon State has now gone through five games without injured All-Pac-12 point guard Sydney Wiese, but Scott Rueck acknowledges his team is still finding its way.
Offensively, it's perhaps been a greater challenge to carve out a new identity. But the Beavers can always rely on the defensive end of the floor.
That was the key in smothering Oregon 60-33 at Gill Coliseum, giving the 11th-ranked Beavers their 10th consecutive win against their Civil War rivals.
"We're riding our defense, and tonight the defensive effort was phenomenal," Rueck said. "It took a big effort to slow them down, to keep them out of transition.
