Oregon State Beavers 2017 position battle to watch: Who returns kicks and punts?

As Oregon State moves closer to the start of fall camp, The Oregonian/OregonLive is breaking down the Beavers' roster by highlighting the prominent battles for playing time in each position group.

What's at stake: The chance to flip momentum as a big-play threat. And given how much OSU has struggled to move the ball during Gary Andersen’s tenure, a dangerous returner who compiles yards before the offense even takes the field would be a huge asset.

He returned one kickoff for 15 yards and did not return a punt.

How they fared during spring practice: Bradford and Pierce were among those fielding kicks and punts during those workouts, though the structure did not often allow them to then make a play behind their blockers or in space at full speed.
