As Oregon State moves closer to the start of fall camp, The Oregonian/OregonLive is breaking down the Beavers' roster by highlighting the prominent battles for playing time in each position group.
The overall storyline: This is perhaps OSU’s most intriguing position group, featuring a mix of proven playmakers and youngsters with bundles of potential. Senior Manase Hungalu, who tallied 83 tackles, one interception and three fumble recoveries during a breakout 2016 season, is now a team captain. Bright Ugwoegbu, who led the Beavers with 5.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss in nine games, is coming off a leg injury.
