Oregon State Beavers 2017 position battle to watch: Offensive line

Related Topics: lineman

As Oregon State moves closer to the start of fall camp, The Oregonian/OregonLive is breaking down the Beavers' roster by highlighting the prominent battles for playing time in each position group.

The overall storyline: After helping set a school record for yards per carry (5.2) in 2016, the Beavers must now fill three starting spots on the offensive line following the departures of Sean Harlow, Dustin Stanton and Gavin Andrews. OSU will not be able to maintain its stout run game or develop its passing game without sound offensive line play. Sumner Houston, a former defensive lineman, is projected to start at center, while Fred Lauina will slide back in at guard.
