CORVALLIS – Like when Wayne Tinkle took over the Oregon State men's basketball program two years ago, the Beavers are thin on bodies heading into the season.
Unlike that first year, when OSU held walk-on tryouts to fill out the roster, Tinkle expects help to soon be on the way.
Tres Tinkle, the team's returning leading scorer and rebounder, is "really close" to being cleared for full court activity, the head coach said Monday at the team's first official practice. The 6-foot-8 sophomore missed the end of last season with a broken right foot that required offseason surgery.
