On Monday afternoon, the Oregon State baseball program picked up the sixth commitment of it’s 2020 recruiting class. That came from 16 year old Luke Watson of Maranatha High School in Glendora, California.
The 5’11”, 160 pounder has been timed at 6.94 seconds in the 60 yard dash. His throw from the outfield has also been gunned at a velocity of 72 mph.
Watson plays his club ball with San Gabriel Valley Arsenal, which develops players from all over the Southern California area. In 2016 alone, 84 SGV Arsenal alumni were playing baseball at four year schools, 58 reported to MLB Spring training, and 6 made major league rosters.
