After the Beavers and Trojans battled for seven innings in a low scoring game, the USC offense exploded in the eighth to take game 3 of the series 5-3 over Oregon State. The loss drops the Beavers to 31-15, and 13-8 in Pac-12 play.
Once again the Trojans put the first run on the board, this time in the top of the third. For the first five innings of the game, USC starter Alex Cornwell worked a perfect game, and it took all the Beavers had to keep the game 1-0. That included some great field work in the top of the fifth, when Troy Claunch caught a runner attempting to steal second.
