After a bizarre game Tuesday evening, the Beavers settled down and put together a nice, big blowout win over the Santa Clara Broncos to split their midweek series. Oregon State’s offense started early and their pitching completely shut down Santa Clara en route to a 9-0 win. The Beavers move to 14-5.
The first two innings passed quickly, but in the bottom of the third the Beavers started to pop off. Matthew Gretler was hit by a pitch, and then a single from Cole Hamilton and a fielding error got Gretler to third. A Kyler McMahan double scored both Hamilton and Gretler, getting the Beavers their first couple of runs.
