Oregon State at Minnesota: 10 lingering questions

JUCO transfers are brought in to play right away. Most of those players are on the defensive side of the ball but none established themselves as clear-cut starters in fall camp. Defensive end Phillip Napoleon, defensive tackle Paisa Savea, inside linebacker Wesley Payne (5) and safety Landry Payne (1) all figure to contribute. For how long and how effectively is not yet clear.

The former quarterback is the biggest wildcard in the Beavers offense. He’ll start at wide receiver but expect to see him at a number of spots throughout the field. With little existing film of Collins in his new role, will new play caller Kevin McGiven (not pictured) let the versatile sophomore loose in the season’s first game or keep some formations closer to the vest?
