CORVALLIS — Oregon State improved to 2-0 on the season with a 72-64 win over Texas-San Antonio on Sunday at Gill Coliseum, scraping by after a slow start.
Key run: After taking a 37-29 deficit into the half, Oregon State shot 5 of 6 and went on a 14-4 run before the first media timeout to take a 43-41 lead. Sophomore forward Drew Eubanks had seven points in that span.
After UTSA tied the game 45-45, the Beavers answered with a 16-5 run and took a game-high 61-50 lead with 7:50 to play.
It was over when: Freshman point guard JaQuori McLaughlin dribbled down the shot clock and scored on a layup with 59 seconds to play to take a 69-63 lead.
