A couple things ...
-- The Merc's Jon Wilner is as incisive a college football writer as I read regularly.
He has a thought-provoking here about the job security or lack thereof for the Pac-12's head football coaches.
As Wilner sees it, Oregon coach Mark Helfrich is the most vulnerable.
Wilner writes: "Have (the UO power brokers) seen indications that Helfrich can reverse the direction? If not, then there's no choice."
I tend to be slow to call for coaching changes, having seen too many firings that not only failed to correct the problem, but made it worse.
