Noah Togiai flashes potential for Oregon State in return from knee injury

CORVALLIS -- While tethered to a couch or chair for much of last fall, Noah Togiai turned to roommate Blake Brandel for company and to the Madden video game for his football fix.

"I couldn't move. I couldn't run," Togiai recently recalled. "I couldn't do anything, really."

Togiai needed to rest and recover from the serious knee injury that derailed his 2016 season. Yet about 11 months later, the Oregon State tight end put up a performance that gamers would envy, scoring three touchdowns in the Beavers' first fall scrimmage last Friday in Bend.

It was the latest signal that Togiai has returned to full health, which the Beavers believe will significantly boost their offense in 2017.
