CORVALLIS, Ore. – Nick Madrigal, the reigning Pac-12 Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Year, has been named a preseason All-American for the second time leading up to the 2018 season. He was selected to the First Team by Perfect Game, which released its three teams on Tuesday.
A junior infielder from Elk Grove, Calif., Madrigal was just the second player in the last two decades to earn the conference's player and defensive player of the year honor in the same season. He was also named a unanimous All-American, earning recognition from all six teams.
