For the past few seasons, The Oregonian's Andrew Nemec and Battle Prep West's Jordan Johnson have previewed the top talent in the state with prospect rankings.
Not publicized, however, were rough draft versions of the top players in the freshman and sophomore classes, which featured names like Lake Oswego's Dawson Jaramillo, South Medford's Chase Cota, Central Catholic's Eli'Jah Winston and Tigard's Braden Lenzy.
This year, the "Next man up" list is being shared with readers.
Although these kids still have risk ahead as prospects (and players who aren't even mentioned here will develop and make future top prospect lists), most are expected to shine and become the future stars of Oregon high school football.
