STANFORD, Calif. – Kevin Murphy continued his hot streak with an even-par 70 in the opening round of The Goodwin on Thursday.
The Oregon State men's golf team got off to a great start in a competitive 24-team field and sits in a tie for sixth place after the first round with a 9-over 289 at the par-70, 6,727-yard Stanford Golf Course.
Four ranked teams are among the five ahead of Oregon State through 18 holes, but No. 5 Oregon is seven strokes behind the Beavers and in a tie for 13th place after shooting a 16-over 296.
