GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Oregon State sophomore Mitch Hickey has been named to the preseason watch list for the NCBWA’s Stopper of the Year, it was announced Monday.
Seventy names dot the initial watch list from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. The award, now in its 12th year, is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.
Hickey is included after finishing with 11 saves in 2015, which is the sixth-best single-season mark in Oregon State history. He finished his first season in Corvallis with a 4-1 record and 2.
