Miller Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year

CORVALLIS – Oregon State athletes Ruth Hamblin (women’s basketball) and Bev Miller (softball) have both been nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award, the NCAA announced Tuesday.

Hamblin and Miller join a group of 231 nominees at the NCAA Division I level, for the award which honors athletes for their achievements in academics, athletics, service and leadership.

Miller was a Pac-12 Academic Honorable Mention this season, posting a 3.31 GPA as a bioengineering major. The senior earned the Oregon Sports Awards Play it Forward Award in January, was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during the 2015-16 academic year.
